My Muse-ical's... the Vampire Weekenders
Let me start off by saying I did something stupid tonight
Out of sheer curiosity and 12am hunger I ordered Papa Johns. Could have been one of the dumber things Ive done in awhile. Even more than staying out till 8am saturday night (sunday morning), locking myself out of my apartment again, and having to get the super to let me in: finally falling asleep at 10am. Needless to say, my night owl tendencies have returned and thank god my room mate had a fun afternoon, took a cat nap and is now joining me in the early hours of the day to come.
So here I am contemplating what I can do to further my career, get back into touring again (because now Im back to rock & roll hours), write better songs, become a better musician, and get to those 10,000 hours needed to be a master at my skill. HOWEVER, I realized I hadnt seen SNL this weekend because I was working. So I go to my friendly HULU.com and watch me some hilarious Zach Galifianakis and Vampire Weekend. Procrastination is and will always be, my drug.
I have always liked Vampire Weekend and I definitely enjoyed their first album I honestly dont know whats going on with me, but they are my favorite band right now. Im not kidding, I cant stop listening to them. Taxi Cab (on Contra) is on repeat till I have to turn off my iPod to give directions to a lost tourist.
Im in the process of starting to put my side project into a reality. I have wanted to do a completely different style of music since I can remember. I can only hope that this new music crack, cooked in someones basement and proudly named Vampire Weekend, will inspire SOMETHING when I finally put a dream into reality in the upcoming year.
Back to Papa Johns; DONT DO IT. I dont care how stoned you are, how late it is, and how far you have to walk to get munchies dont do it. Its worse than Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Digiorno pizza put together. Pizza hut being thrown up would probably be better then Papa Johns. My room mates dog wouldnt even eat it. I had one slice and threw the rest away. Sorry to rant, but WTF was I thinking.
Alrighty-oohhh. My closing advice: Stay up as late as I do and maybe we can find each other on Chat Roulette. Next the c**ks.

The FUNNIEST thing happened...
And because it's such a specific story I can't tell it over the internet HAHA. Thought you were gonna get a chuckle huh?... I'm such a comic tease.
ANYWHO, I had a great dinner with my sister last night. I love living in this city. For the first time since I've lived here it's finally starting to feel like home. My advice to anyone moving here is rent a car and drive around. I know that seems like a contradiction to the NY mentality... but trust me it's the ONLY way you're going to get to know this city fast. I can actually stop looking at transit maps now. If that doesn't impress you, then you need to understand how bad I am at directions.
But enough about that, lets talk about this show coming up. I'm feeling a little nervous and I'm not used to the feeling. It's been awhile since I've played a show so I'm probably going to make a really inappropriate joke and get tomatoes thrown at me or something. Speaking of which, I know I always carry around a rotting tomato... but you just don't see anyone else doing it these days. hmm shame.
So after this Sunday I have alot of work ahead of me. I've been hired for 3 graphic design jobs and I have a meeting with a saucy french woman about a potential opportunity in Paris (pretty sweet eh?) So we'll see what happens.
I'm going to go do some Yoga now but you stay citrusy ya hear?
Think palm trees,

I'm BACK!!!!
Well, sort of. I never left but I FEEL like I'm back you know? In the words of Rosi... it's been a long year. I have been through a lot and I feel like a completley different person then I was a year ago. I lost some people professionally, I went back to school, I started doing everything on my own, moved three times in the same city... and now with 85% of my things in storage and back in Brooklyn I feel... well hungry, broke and scared of my neighbors (just kidding) but I feel GREAT!
I'm only going to write a short blog today because I'm preparing for this last minute show on sunday at City Winery and I have A LOT to do! including getting an input put it my guitar.
So I bid you a-doodoo. Stay warm assholes!
Alexa
